Consumers: Boycott genetically modified vitamin C

The American consumers' organization Organic Consumers Association in the U.S. encourages people to boycott vitamin C supplements made from genetically modified crops.

This takes place after American ecologists have shown that a large part of the vitamin C products on the market are made from genetically modified crops. Vitamin C is primarily extracted from maize.
In the EU, more than half the population are opposed to genetically modified foods.
Here, products do not have to be labelled if the content of genetically modified substances is less than 1%. Consumers, therefore, are in a cleft stick.
For this reason we have to find the products that - in writing - are guaranteed free from genetically modified all the way back to their origin. You can find more information on www.organicconsumers.com or read about vitamin C in the Health Products category.
