Hello !

Every day, the mobile phone makes life easier on a great many people, but does it have any harmful repercussions when it comes to our health?

Researchers have not succeeded in demonstrating that using a mobile phone can cause brain cancer. But it has been established that the cerebral tissue is affected when we speak on the mobile phone.
For example, a heating of the cerebral tissue occurs which is not necessarily harmful, but some studies indicate there being other possible harmful affects and sequelae. These could be affectations of cellular fluid, blood cells, and the blood-brain barrier.
Mobile phones' transmitting power is called SAR (Specific Energy Absorption Rate). It's measured in watts per kg. The EU's limit for mobile phone radiation is 2.0 W / kg, which according to some researchers is far too high.
In vitro studies of living animal- and human cells that were exposed to radiation at a strength of 0.3 - 2 Watts have shown that the number of damages to the DNA of these cells was increased.
As mentioned above, evidence is lacking that mobile phones are harmful to living humans. When or if the evidence should one day be here, it will be too late to do anything about it. Some researchers, for example, fear that the sequelae will appear to be early development of dementia and we already know that damages to our DNA can be precursors to cancer.
The skull of children is thinner than that of adults and it is therefore more vulnerable towards any possible harmful effects of radiation from the popular mobile phones. For this reason, suggestions have been made as to children not being allowed to have the popular gadget until their 16th birthday.
Mobile phones emit much more radiation than the mobile phone masts. If the mobile phone is far away from the nearest mast, the signal intensity of the mobile phone will be proportionately increased.
In this case, consumer safety is very much a highly individual matter. If you are concerned about mobile phone radiation, you can follow the various countermeasures below; however, we do not know to how large an extent these measures reduce the risk:

  • Choose a mobile phone with a low radiation value (SAR value). It should not be higher than 0.8 W / kg. Check the phone's user manual or ask the salesman.
  • Do not use the mobile phone where the signal strength is bad. The current signal strength can be seen in the display of the phone.
  • As far as possible use SMS instead of speaking on the phone.
  • Only use your mobile phone to make short calls.
  • Do not press your mobile phone hard against your ear, but hold it off the ear; also when the mobile telephone is making the connection.
  • Hold the mobile telephone away from the body when sending a text message.
  • Do not use the mobile phone during transport. The mobile phone's transmitting power increases strongly when it switches to another cell.
  • Do not touch the antenna when the phone is in use.
  • Use a hands-free kit
  • Set up an outdoor antenna for your hand free car kit
  • Get used to turning off the mobile phone when incoming calls will only add stress to your life.
  • Do not use mobile phones during thunderstorms. Even though the risk of being hit by lightning is generally small, there have been cases of serious injury to people who used mobile phones during thunderstorms. Mobil phones conduct the lightning into the body and can cause injuries that would probably not occur in one not using a mobile telephone.

If you suffer from symptoms such as headache, tinnitus, sleeping disturbances, depression, difficulties concentrating, or eczema, you could try only using your regular stationary phone for a period of time to see if the symptoms might be reduced or even disappear.

Traffic and mobile phone calls
A study has demonstrated that the reaction time of young people was drastically reduced when driving and speaking on the phone at the same time. The reaction time of older drivers, however, was not simlilarly reduced.
Handheld Bacteria Bomb
Mobile phones have also been shown to be full of bacteria from lint, handbags, and skin. Bacteria thrive due to the warmth put out by the mobile phone, close contact with the hands and the high humidity caused by sweaty palms. Therefore mobile phones should be cleaned often so that they do not become the caused of zits or other bacteria infections.
