Organic secret from the wine industry

The multi-prize winning white wine Verdicchio is actually organically grown. So why is this not something that is being advertised as is the case with other organic products?

The Danish newspaper Politiken has revealed an organic secret from the wine industry: The multi-prize winning white wine Verdicchio is actually organically grown. So why is this not something that is used when advertising it - just as is the case with other organic foodstuffs? Well, in the wine industry, the whole organic wave has not yet become trendy and is not looked upon as a quality stamp.

And deserving of a quality stamp - that is exactly what this Verdicchio is. It is actually so good that the Italians for the most part drink it themselves and therefore there is not much left for the rest of us....And for this reason, it is not as famous as its quality would otherwise justify.

In the fields, there is grass between the grapevines in order to make the roots seek lower - this will result in a better wine and it will create a habitat for the insects that live off a small red butterfly that destroys the vines. Moreover, a bacterium called Bacillus thuringiensis which lives off the red butterly Tignola is being used.

There is no use for insecticides!
