First of all, sun-scorched skin promotes the development of skin cancer and dries out your skin, causing irritation.
It can be beneficial to use after sun cream on sunburnt skin because it both cools and nurses the skin.
You can actually get the same nice tan as from a suntan with tanning lotion. It is applied in a thin layer and gives you a tan within a few hours (use a cleanser first). Remember that tanning lotions do not replace sunscreen.
Use baby lotion on your face
Before going outdoors, you could put on a good layer of sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) according to your skin type. Whether you like cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, or any other activity in which you are exposed to frost, wind, and very strong ultraviolet radiation, your face requires extra protection. You can use an ointment for baby bottoms - but disregard the name! It is quite effective against frostbite as works as a protective film on your skin and at the same time has nourishing, healing, and disinfectant effects. This kind of ointment is a water and perfume free natural product especially manufactured for delicate skin. Let a little bit of ointment "melt" in your hand and smear it onto your exposed areas (forehead, nose, cheeks, chin, ears, etc.) after you have put on the sunscreen.
Both the sunscreen and the ointment can be removed again with a cleansing lotion (do not use soap as it will dry out your skin). Afterwards, your skin will benefit from being dabbed with a facial toner (skin tonic) followed by a fat free face gel or face cream with revitalizing plant extracts or a nourishing facial cream. Both the gel and the cream supply the skin with extra moisture and vitamins, and they are beneficial to stressed or strained skin. You can also use them on your neck or on the back of your hands.
Tip: When the tube of sunscreen or ointment is empty, you can cut away the bottom of it and use the last bit of cream from the inside of the tube.
Tip: You will get more out of your skiing holidy if you are physically prepared. Have an exercise programme arranged for you at your fitness centre.
