ALS - Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

Progressive destruction of nerves in the spinal cord and brain which leads to paralysation, quivering of the muscles, and progressive muscular atrophy. Speech disorders and difficulties in swallowing may occur. The muscles of respiration may be affected.
