Constipation

Constipation is characterized by arrest of undigested food components in the colon and retarded bowel movements. The cause of this can be e.g. a suppressed need to have one's bowels moved, and a too low liquid intake.

In severe cases, your doctor can give you tablets to stimulate bowel movements but it has to be reserved for severe cases of sickness after having established the cause of the disease.
