Skin problems

The skin has many functions, and problems may arise for each of them. The skin protects against exterior influences, takes part in regulation of different bodily functions, and the appearance of skin has great social importance.

Dry skin
Dry skin is characterised by the skin feeling taut. It can be red and prone to dandruff and might itch.
Port wine stains– haemangioma
These are red or bluish slightly elevated marks on the skin which come shortly after birth. They are often found on the head but they can be found anywhere on the body. A port-wine stain is not a birthmark or just a stain on the skin, but is a benign tumour made up of blood vessels, where the blood vessels do not stop growing. A port-wine stain can grow for many years. It can also disappear spontaneously after a few years, but this is never a certainty.
