Good for cough when taken along with liquorice root.
When taken with horsetail (Equisetum) it is good for mucous, and when taken along with horsetail and sage it is good for hoarseness.
Used as a decoction in case of inflammation of the throat and the larynx. Has a laxative effect, but also relieves diarrhoea. Used for gastroenteritis and to strengthen the central nervous system.

Contains toxic substances which are poisonous in large doses.
