Hesperidin

Belongs to the bioflavonoids. Can be found in hawthorn, especially whitethorn, flowers, and berries. Can be a part of the treatment of vessel- and circulatory problems but can also be used against hot flushes.

Hesperidin can be used as a substancial part of the treatment of fragile capillaries, bleeding gums, bruises, oedema, varicose veins, nightly leg cramps, and hot flushes. It possibly also prevents the production of fat and the postmenopausal loss of bone tissue.

Is predominantly found in citrus fruits, green and yellow vegetables, onions, parsley, tomatoes, broccoli, whole grain, and in tea. In nature, hesperidin can be found together with vitamin C just as it has the best therapeutic effect together with vitamin C.

Hesperidin is non-toxic and has no known side effects. Overdosing, however, can cause gastro-intestinal symptoms.
