Seaweed flour - also known as sea kelp. Made from several different kinds of seaweed, mostly from the Laminaria family which have a very high amount of all of the vital minerals with especially high concentrations of trace substances, vitamins and amino acids.
Traditionally, kelp has been used in the treatment of thyroid gland problems due to its high content of organic iodine. But research has also revealed many other good properties in this good old dietary supplement.
It is currently used in the treatment of obesity, gall stone, stomach ulcers, asthma, gastritis, and for sufferings in the urinal system and the sex organs in both men and women. Sea kelp induces the immune reaction ability, lowers the blood cholesterol, and lowers a high blood pressure.
The alga contains a bactericidal substance and the compound fucoidan which has proved to be able to block the development of certains forms of cancer. Moreover, the high amount of algae in in kelp removes heavy metals such as lead, mercury, and cadmium from the body in the shape of alginates.
