Picrorrhiza contains many active substances such as iridoids and curcurbitacins, which are poisonous at high dosages, and acetophenones, which work to reduce inflammation, reduce asthma symptoms, and stimulate the immune system. It is also used against vitiligo.
Picrorrhiza is believed to reduce the production of free radicals, which are very harmful to the liver and it protects the liver against toxins and vira.
Traditionally Picrorrhiza is used for digestive problems, asthma, bronchitis, malaria, dysentery, elephantiasis, and scorpion bites.
Dosage
Dried herb: 0.5 – 2 g daily.
1:2 extract: 1.5 – ml daily.

Picrorrhiza is safe to take and has no associated side effects at the recommended dosage.
