The Chinese Che qian cao, Plantago asiatica, the Ribwort Plantain, Plantago lanceolata, and the Greater Plantain, Plantago major, are all related, and can be used in the same way.
Historically, the plant has been used to stop rapid haemorrhage and for the healing of wounds.
Very often used to prevent and stop diarrhoea, loss of voice, urinary bleeding and catarrh in the respiratory system.
Is also used in ointments - mostly for inflammated wounds, bee- and mosquito bites, and haemorrhoids.
