Rose hip contains many vitamins, including vitamin C, and flavonoids. A galactolipid called GOPO inhibits the inflammatory reactions of rheumatism. Moreover, rose hip contains citric acid, malic acid, pectin, dietary fibre, and tanning agents which make the fruit effective against a number of sufferings.
Rose hip is used as a diuretic, in the treatment of kidney stone and gravel formation, and against inflammation of kidneys, bladder, and the renal pelvis, and rheumatic pains. Also used against metabolic diseases.
Preparation
2 tbsp. for ½ litre of water; boil for ½ hours.
Dosage
2 cups of tea daily for some weeks.
NB!
The consumption of hips must not be exaggerated because of its high acid content, and one should eat plenty of vegetables in the same period of time.
