Adaptogenic which means that the root is generally strenghtening in case of chronic diseases because it strenghtens the suprarenal glands whose function is important in regards to the immune defence. Moreover, it strenghtens the stress level and a number of other functions in the body.
It is slightly immune stimulating and inhibits weakening in connection with chronic diseases. Can be used in the treatment of stress symptoms such as nervousness, irritability, exhaustion, insomnia, and mild depressions.
Precautions
Do not use herbal medicin if you suspect that your symptoms should be clarified by a doctor. If you do not experience any improvement within one month - contact a phytotherapist or a naturopath.
Contraindications
Should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Should not be used for acute infections with fever since the Siberian ginseng might stimulate fever and prolong the disease.
Side effects
There are no known side effects when the recommended dosage is followed. Some people, however, may experience light palpitations and insomnia which will disappear if consumption of the herb is stopped.
Dosage
1:2 extract: 3 ml. or one tablespoonful a day. To be taken with a little water. The herb is strong and you may rinse with a tasty beverage if necessary.

In case of common cold: Take it together with Kan Jang, Andrographis paniculata.
In case of repeated infections: Find the complex that best suits the problem.
In case of problems in the respiratory passages: Prunus Complex, Euphorbia Complex, or Albizia Complex (from Herbworx).
In case of bladder infections: Echinacea purpurea root, Euphrasia Complex (from Herbworx), and Dandelion (leaves).
In case of infections in the gastro-intestinal tract: Althea Complex.
In case of skin problems: Calendula Complex or Melissa Complex.
