The tree originates in the Australian rain forest but thanks to its widespread popularity it now grows in numerous places around the world.
The oil can kill coli bacteria, staphylococci, streptococci, and aspergillus etc.
For external use, Tea Tree oil must only be applied to small sections of the skin (the size of the back of a hand). For larger surfaces, dilute the oil 1:10 in e.g. water.
The internal use of Tea Tree is more controversial. However, ground leaves have been used traditionally as a tea for coughing and infections.
Some people have allergic reaction when using tea tree products.
Caution
- Do not use undiluted teat tree oil.
- Should not be taken during pregnancy, by people with MCS, or by people with sensitive skin.
