The Disadvantages of a Caessarian Section

More and more women deliver by Caessarian section, also in cases where the woman might as will have delivered the child by natural means. Caessarian section, however, does not seem to be risk-free.

A Caessarian is a surgical procedure whereby the uterus is opened and the child is taken out directly. The method is developed with those situations in mind, where a natural birth is deemed too risky or impossible. This may be in cases where the pelvis is too narrow, early loosening of the placenta, the placenta is blocking the cervix, the umbilical cord is wrapped around the fetus, the fetus is too big or is lying across the uterus in a wrong position, the mother has an outbreak of henital herpes or where there are other complications.
